Dan Menzone has been highlighted in the Banjo Newsletter. He is a member of the Bluegrass band TrueGrass, touring in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Dan composes and plays in a melodic style that has evolved over 30 years based on the influences of Earl Scruggs and his studies with Tony Trischka. Dan tells us he keeps a Mike's Banjo Mute in each of his banjo cases so he's never caught without one.
Noam Pikelny is a recording artist and currently a member of the band Punch Brothers.
Known as Dr. Banjo, Peter Wernick composes, performs, writes instruction books, videos, and conducts workshops. He has been a member of several bands, including Country Cooking with Tony Trischka, and Hot Rize with Tim O'Brien. Pete is currently with the bluegrass/jazz band Flexigrass.
Johnny Thorson, affectionately called "Captain Banjo", hails from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He is a recording artist and for 40 years has professionally performed parlour and jazz music with his plectrum banjos. He has opened on stage for such greats as Bob Hope, Teresa Brewer, and comedian David Steinberg.
